Soccer Finale/ Trey Grades

The soccer season ended last Saturday with a double overtime defeat to Joppatowne at the year-end tournament. Joppatowne had a great team and it was a back and forth battle the whole game. We were winning 2-1 and they tied the game with 40 seconds left and eventually won during the penalty kick shoot out. I think our guys suffered from not having played or practiced for the preceding 2 weeks, as we weren't as aggressive as we normally are. Trey played the entire game and scored both our goals.

The Earthquakes finished the regular season undefeated with Trey as the leading scorer (13 goals during season and 2 in the tournament). Not bad for a halfback. His improvement from age 6 to age 7 was huge. I can't say enough about Andy Roberts as a coach- he pushed the kids without being a nazi about it, made it fun, and made sure everybody got to play. Exactly what you want in a kid's coach.

Trey may play indoor soccer for Andy in Jan or he may play at Sonic in North East which has a real cool artificial turf.

Trey also got his first report card with real grades. He got all A's and one B. The B was in Art and was given by a teacher who "doesn't give A's" (she actually told my sister-in-law that). Regardless of that, it was an excellent report card.
