As a Lad (70's) Plucked from sunny Florida at the ripe old age of six and transplanted into rural, conservative Cecil County, Maryland (Where the Women are Strong and the Sheep Run Scared), I learned early on that Shit Happens. The shock of the Big Move has barely worn off when I was thrust into a private school where the staff included my parents, my grandmother, and my godfather (who was the Headmaster). I was under the eye of scrutiny; but alas, what to do? Ah, but of course-invent new and exciting ways to get in trouble and embarrass the family! Gee, I wonder why I was always grounded?... |

As a Scholar (Early 80's) After surviving high school, being grounded for what seems like forever, and Graduation Week at Ocean City, I moved on to higher learning at Salisbury University. I took every class that interested me (music, martial arts, political science), but not enough in one area to get a degree. Hmmm I guess I'll give the music thing a try...... |

As an Artiste (Mid 80's- Mid 90's) For the next 10 years, I was a member of the Mid Atlantic Region musical community as both a performer and instructor, teaching 50 students week and playing in a variety of cover and original bands. I was featured in Guitar Player Magazine (with BB King on the cover!), was the featured guitarist in the instructional video Rock Guitar Inside & Out, and wrote an instructional column in a local music rag called Music from the Ledge . |

As a Geek/ Family Man (Mid 90's-Present) I finally got tired of being in bars 5 days a week and dealing with drunken idiots, so I let the black dye job grow out, took off the black nail polish, cut the hair, and got the dreaded Day Job. You know - benefits, 401k, sick time- all kinds of stuff that normal people have. As I phased out being a fulltime musician, I expanded my pursuits to include web stuff. Six years ago I snagged a day gig doing web development for Nemetschek North America, makers of VectorWorks CAD software. I really like my job which is something alot of people can't say. Around the same time I decided to bag the bar scene, I also married a lass named Amy. On March 26, 1999 I was blessed with a gift from God. His name is Randall Carl Fluker III, but we call him Trey. I think he is going to be a drummer. Lately, I've gotten back into the music thing, not to be the Next Big Thing, but just for fun. Also along the way I started playing golf, and I also took up jujitsu. Stay tuned to see what happens next! |
